Just a girl. I am a contrary one, but beyond that I am not so unusual, if that is unusual at all. I grew up on a farm, only 35 miles outside of Seattle, closer to Tacoma. Tacoma is a city I lived in for a while. I am now back at the farm, having fully succeeded in not following any of my parent’s advice. Sadly it was all very good advice I didn’t follow. So here I am, eating crow. Were did that saying “eating crow” come from?

Driving to California

(My mind is odd thinking like this, but its my only friend when I'm driving alone at night)

Driving slowly, seeing the lights in the rain.
So many things have changed
Seeing the good times driving by, wishing you were still with me.
The way it used to be, I'm driving on

Seeing the stars come out ahead of me
Thinking of all we had.
I had it all then, you loved me, was I was wrong.
Driving on, I'm driving on to Californian

The music is all about another time
I think I am dreaming of that time, when there was only you and I.
Makes me sorry that it had to end this way.
Learned my lesson there's nothing left to say, driving on, I'm driving on to Californian

Was there ever a time when everything was right.
Was it that time with only you and I.
I am so sorry that it had to end that way.
Learned my lesson now there's nothing left to say.  I am driving on, a thousand miles more.

I'm driving on to Californian.

Pretty! But I was left unsure as to if you are really traveling to CA or not.

I get the sense of lonesome resignation. A road where there is no turning back. Only looking forward.

Roads like that... Sometimes ppl forget, theres always the 4x4 jeep, and the corn isn't too high yet. Screw those roads, forget the pavement.

I used to drive down I85 to see my gf in South Carolina.  Now I drive down the same stretch to go from my parents house to school or vice versa.  It's very bittersweet, especially when an old song we used to listen to comes on.  What are the songs that take you back?
