  • Rape is funny it seems

With more than a few rape posts making the blogging rounds. Some comments even hint that prison rape is simply justice. It is time to rerun a 4 year old entry of mine.

“I am totally straight, but I don t count my time in prison. That Bubba was a real gem. Is it okay if he visits one weekend?”

“Conrad Black loses bid to be freed on bond, will have to report to a Florida prison on Monday. Torontoist advises Conrad Black to spend his last free weekend learning how not to drop the soap.”

60,000 inmates admit to being raped every year. And all you hear about it are jokes involving soap on a rope and some guy named Bubba.  We send a minor drug offender to spend a year in jail and he is ganged raped the entire time he is there. Later he dies of AIDS or hepatitis.

All this happens under the watchfully eye of prison staff. And what about that staff. In some institutions 27 percent of female prisoners report being sexually abused. In the majority of those cases, it is claimed it was the guards who did it.

Interesting if true, and a good explanation for the 60,000 rapes that happen right in front of them every year. All these numbers came from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Statistics. So it is not like this is happening, and they don’t know about .

So what does this say about us? We are letting this happen and then making noises about being a civilized people.

We send young men into prison, then sexually abuse them for a few years. What sort of men are we then releasing back into society?

It’s not funny, stop laughing. It’s not justice, no just people would stand for it.

The One Year Sentence for Rape that so outraged everyone on xanga. Lets not get into the that case. But the truth is that those 2, 17 year old guys who were sentenced to one year in prison, or until 21 years old at the longest. They will be getting out. The crime they committed, I do not think anyone believes deserves a life sentence. That means they will be released someday. In everyone’s wildest dreams of vengeance, the day will come that they are on the streets again.

Is it really funny and a good idea that they would spend their time in jail being sexuality abused?

Do you think they will make you a good neighbor when they get out?

  • If I leave here tomorrow

If I leave here tomorrow …. would you still remember me?

Seriously now, Xanga is all about those of us who write blogs and those of us who comment on them. We are very discussion and relationship oriented. We live for new blood here. We are not Facebook, where only your real world “friends”  are allowed to see your stuff. As if any of us have 500 real friends

We on Xanga are a community of people who want to interact with each other. But we are letting ourselves be chased into our own little walled gardens. Where we will slowly die from a lack of new blood

Unless you really are only posting private stuff, to your real world friends, take your site off of friends lock. The trolls want you to do lock your sites up,  stop running from them. When you go on friends lock, you take yourself off of the top blogs. And you lose the ability to meet new people. As go sign in lock, that also takes you off of top blogs. Xanga wants those coming to xanga for the first time to be able to read the top blog. No one can rate your site if they do not sign in anyway, so there is little reason to use sign in lock, unless you do not want someone you have blocked to read your blog. You can make it so those not signed in can not comment. That hurts nothing at all and lets you block the creeps out there, one at a time.

If Xanga stops being a good place for discussion and meeting new people. I will go to a bigger and better blogging site. I have had a little success on on blogger in the past. If Xanga is going to be a walled garden, I would rather go there than stay here with just a handful of people talking to each other from behind their block walls.

If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me?

Are you going let the trolls win?

  • Last of the EX

Yesterdays entry was number one until the EX dude hit it enough times to get it filtered off the front page. He lost a couple of fake sites doing that, but I think he has more than a few of them. So the entry did not do as much good as it could have. Its up to you guys it let Xanga know this is a real problem, its not my battle, this sort of thing is hurting Xanga as a company.  A lot of people are locking their sites up behind friends lock and that is not a good thing.

Thank you guys for helping each other. Just remember to go and honestly rate everyone on this list, if you have time. At least do it as you as you visit other sites.

Also if your site needs to be cleaned up http://eugenia.xanga.com/ will do that for you. Even being rated a C takes you off of the Top blogs

You guys should also send suggestions about the rating system to http://thexangateam.xanga.com/. This is not a minor problem, everyone hiding behind friends lock is not good for Xanga. The issue should be a lot more important to Xanga than to any one of us.

Please recommend and comment, tell me when this entry gets its first EX rating. That makes shutting down the sites doing it easier

No more on this subject I do not find it fun at all. Xanga will fix this mess or …. Just make sure they hear from you

  • Xanga is messed up

Right now we have some moron on Xanga going to sites and rating them EX. Doing that shuts the site down to everyone who has not given Xanga some ID proving they are over 18, so they can view porn. In other words almost everyone is shut out of the site except the freak doing it. Not surprisingly he seems to have an ex rating on some of his fake accounts (do we view porn much little man?). It is likely it is only one warped little loser doing this. A guy who has too much time on his hands,  no real life, and a lot of fake accounts. Team Xanga seems to be too small these days to do much about it

This is what everyone needs to do

On every xanga you visit unless it is nasty and pornographic. Go to the top of their site, hit ratings, and give them an A rating on their main page. That will make it it so they can not be shut down by some freak.

You are visiting me right now I have 13 ex ratings right now. Yes whoever it is, they are trying to do it to me. Give me an A rating (not here do it on my main page) and pick 10 commentators here and  do the same thing with them.

Now I know you guys hate to do it but recommend this entry and leave a comment. DO it now!!!!

Yes this subject needs to be at the top of the front page.

We need to EX bomb proof everyone and ruin this moron’s fun

Sites that are shut down as of now, that I know of

http://lkjslain.xanga.com   She is open again but give her some help so it does not happen again

http://myxldove.xanga.com   They hit him hard so help him if you can get to his site

http://roadlesstaken.xanga.com/  His site was close to being EXed. he did not have a lot of EX’s but no one else had rated him. One more and he was toast

  • Stereotypes

I am 29 years old. I was raised on a farm. I am a Christian, my father is an elder in his church. I teach Sunday school. I’m married to a man (a firefighter) who spent a year building a christian orphanage in Brazil. That makes him a former missionary.

If that is all you knew about me. Can you tell me something about myself.

Am I strong willed and opinionated, or meek and submissive?

Do I work? Am I successful? What sort of job should I have?

Interests? What sort of interests should I have?

In other words do you have any stereotypical ideas, about what I should be like?

And am I the way you would think I would be from this description?

    __________

At 15 I told my father to keep his God to himself and leave me alone. Yet I really did believe in God. I was just being a willful little bitch. To both of my fathers.

Virginity? Oh that did not last long really. I was always extremely physical. But I always claimed to be in love. I lied a lot

School was easy, other than English grammar. I honestly thought that I was much smarter than almost every teacher I ever had. And I took personal offense at a lowered grade over my miss spellings.

Getting out of high school classes to go to a community college as a high school junior. That was so much better. My grades improved in the harder environment. Such a “smart girl” I was.

An athlete, an enforcer in a combative sport (Water Polo) . I was tough, physical and mean. I enjoyed being a bit scary with my broad shoulders and muscles.

A party animal yes I was. My parents lost control of me very young. But they always had hope and kept supporting me.

PLU on my own. A drunken party animal, my grades went to hell. My parents gave up on me, through me out, no money no nothing.

Became roomies with some other girls who screwed up. I was the only one selling coffee, instead of my body at Foxes. They made a lot more money than I did. It was temping. And the hours were very good. I never did do that.

Men, I moved in with . . .  well I did, enough said.

Drunken irresponsibility,  someone was killed over it. A child left without any parents.

Never stopped believing in God. But I hated him. He held me back, he told me I was not so smart as I thought I was.

Beware of what you think you know.

Would your guesses about me be different knowing these things?

If you only knew me when these things were happening, would you see me differently than you do knowing me now?

Are you the person everyone thinks you are?

  • Help Wanted: I Need Sycophants

This blogging thing is a lot easier if you have about 50 sycophants.

I need me some “yes men”, you guys to apply for the job . Brown nosers are preferred, all you need to do is say “great post Paige”, or some other light weight comment to the effect that I am always great and you love me. After every entry I post, you will need to recommend it, along with giving your  best insipid comment. Yes you will need to do this even if it is a lame entry. Sock puppets are allowed, if you are trying to keep your reputation intact. Just make sure and use friends lock, so no one can figure out that it is fake sites that are propping me up. We might be able to get the 50 sycophants I need with as few as five of you doing the job.

I may also need some official enemies to keep things moving around here. But I do not seem to have a lot of problems getting real ones to show up.

I am just kidding you guys.  I do not really want 50 sycophants. No one else would ever do anything like this would they?

  • Good Christian=Neutered Christian

Traits that will get you called a “good Christian”

You need to be an insipidly nice,  docile, flaccid pushover, of a human being.

You need to be a person who does not have the courage to take a stand. The only verse in the Bible you should know is “judge not”. And no you don’t need to know the full verse, just those two words.

As a matter of fact, it is much better if you do not read a whole lot of the Bible. It will just mess up your pop Christian ideology.

In matters of sex, on a personal level, you need to be a neuter.

But regarding any and all other human beings, you shall have no opinion. Play it safe and don’t talk about sex , other than to say you don’t do it.

As a good Christian, you will of course not believe your faith has any merit greater than anyone else’s does. But if you do believe such a thing, well just keep your mouth shut.

A “good Christian” never lets their faith effect their lives outside of church. No one should be able to tell you from anyone else. Other than the fact that you are very boring.

Lets just sum this up. A good Christian can best be described as nice, quite and boring.

I am a bad Christan, just ask all the pop Christians out there, they will tell you. It seems that when they are bashing another Christian, they finally feel comfortable making a judgment.

  • The Truth About Government Ammo Purchases

“There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily.” –George Washington

    2013-03-08-digest-1.jpg

The last few months have seen troubling news of massive government purchases of ammunition. Agencies from the Social Security Administration to the Department of Agriculture to the Department of Homeland Security have purchased millions of rounds. But is the whole thing more hype than substance?

Ever since Barack Obama was first elected in 2008, he has been selling guns and ammunition at a faster clip than any gun salesman could hope for. And since his re-election, citizens have been faced with severe shortages of both. This can only be exacerbated by large government purchases. The Social Security Administration (SSA), for example, purchased 174,000 rounds and the Department of Agriculture (USDA) bought 320,000 rounds. More understandable in purpose but also perhaps more staggering in scale, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) put in a request for 450 million rounds, while the FBI intends to purchase 100 million.

The headlines are ominous, but some of the hype can be put in perspective by doing a little math. National Review’s Charles C. W. Cooke does just that. The SSA’s request for 174,000 rounds amounts to just 590 rounds for each of its 295 inspector general agents “who investigate Social Security fraud and other crimes.” Some of us might go through 590 rounds in an afternoon at the range. As for the USDA, 320,000 is enough to provide the same number of rounds for 542 agents, and, through the Forest Service, those agents have an area the size of Pakistan to cover.

When it comes to the bigger orders, Cooke writes, “The FBI and DHS’s apparently vast orders are deceptively presented by the conspiracy theorists. It is true that in 2011, the FBI ordered up to 100 million bullets for its 13,913 special agents (which works out to 7,187 per agent). And, yes, the Department of Homeland Security — a composite department that oversees USCIS, Customs and Border Protection, FEMA, ICE, the TSA, the Coast Guard, the Secret Service, and the National Protection Directorate — placed a request for up to 450 million rounds for its 65,000 armed personnel (which works out to 6,923 per agent). But in the real world, ammunition is not divided up and handed out on such a basis. What is bought is stockpiled and then allocated on the basis of need. The DHS’s order is expected to last for at least five years, and it was placed up front primarily as a cost-saving measure.” Indeed, DHS is not even bound to buy that much; they merely have a tab on which to order more rounds as needed.

That certainly doesn’t mean there aren’t questions or that we should simply shrug and look the other way. For starters, the Department of Education recently placed an order for “27 Remington Brand Model 870 police 12-gauge shotguns.” This might lead any reasonable person to ask, as Cooke does, “Whether it is in possession of one bullet or 1 million bullets, should the federal Department of Education be armed in the first place? If so, why?” We would add, should there even be a Department of Education? But that’s a topic for another day. The DoE has been known to botch raids when it was the wrong enforcement vehicle from the start.

The same questions could be asked of any number of bureaucracies. Does the Social Security Administration really need an armed enforcement division? We’ve known some unruly seniors in our day, but that seems to be overkill.

Then there’s the information that’s just plain false. Reports have been circulating that DHS has procured 2,717 Mine Resistant Armor Protected (MRAP) vehicles. The truth is, DHS has had retrofitted MRAPs since 2008, and now has 16 of them for serving “high-risk warrants.” The figure of 2,717 comes from a delivery to the Marine Corps, not DHS. None of that, however, takes away from the problem that these are more properly military vehicles for war zones, not law enforcement tools. The militarization of law enforcement is undeniably troublesome. Furthermore, DHS is the same bureaucracy that claims right-wing extremists pose a threat, and it’s run by an administration that thinks that “weapons of war” shouldn’t be on our streets. Unless they’re the ones driving them, apparently.

There are certainly troubling trends here and very real threats to our Liberty, but we must be careful not to exaggerate. While readers know that we never minimize the outrageous growth of government beyond its constitutional bounds, it also doesn’t seem to us that the government is, as some have put it, “stockpiling bullets in case of civil unrest.”

Questions about procurements and functions? Absolutely. Apocalypse? Not yet.

While this entry is not written by me I think its important to be accurate and the links are very valuable. Spread the word, in other words ether recommend this, or spread the links.

  • WalMart and Songs

The best part of going to WalMart is that no matter how bad you are feeling about yourself, looking at the other WalMart Shoppers will make you feel so much better about yourself

I have what I call WalMart songs. Those are the songs I want to listen to when I’m feeling bad about something

Like when I think my life sucks. I just listen to Johnny Cash’s version of Hurt and that leave me knowing that at least I’m not having it as bad as that guy was.

And if you think your man done you wrong. He was not this bad

    <

So what songs do you listen to when you need to feel better about yourself?

  • War in the USA

Our nation has the worlds largest military. It lacks for nothing, it is the largest military in the world. In his military  we have 467,587 serving in the National Guard (State Militias) they have every weapon needed to fight a full scale war. We also have a huge number of police officers in every city.

Why are we creating a national police force that needs to buy 7,000 more fully automatic assault weapons for ‘personal defense’?

They already have standard police weapons. All this complete with billions of rounds of ammunition.

Why does this national police agency, that serves at the will of the executive branch,  need 2700 armored vehicles?

Why in a time when our government needs to cut its budget (including the military budget)  is it creating a large military unit that answers to the president and fights only in the USA?
