  • Misogyny

    The word means “woman-hater,”

    Sarah Palin
    Michele Bachmann
    Michelle Malkin
    Ann Coulter

    Even Hillery Clinton

Everyone of them. (Maybe Hillary is sort of out of it now, but in her day she had them saying she should be beaten half to death in order to get her to drop out of the presidential race.) I have seen all of these woman, in the last seven days, in different places, described as some sort of ugly, evil, female dog, that the world would be better off without. In other words someone please kill them. Oh yeah, never forget to insult their looks more than once. Being conservative woman of course, they must also be stupid. Hillary being liberal, just call her a bitch two different ways. We all know liberals are so smart.(sarcasm alert!)

I can’t think of a single woman involved in politics or political commentary who does not find themselves described in such terms. Yes the guys hear it as well, but nowhere near as often, and the insults are nowhere near as personal and vile. Obama gets called a socialist and a liar. And he is the number one male political target right now. He is drawing more fire than anyone else, though most of it is far from personal (liar). When you’re number one (and not telling the truth) what do you expect?

But a Sara Palin is ridiculed constantly in the most personal ways (by people with half her IQ and none of her personal accomplishments). what is she? A past Governor and failed VICE presidential nominee. Not exactly the number one political opponent who needs to be shot down. Yet so many see fit to call her daughters whores and ridicule her baby. When not busy insulting everything else about her. Few of those who are insulting her, even know anything specific about her political views. Other than she is not liberal. Being folksy, a woman, and pretty is enough for them to hate her.

I say we are seeing simple misogyny and nothing else. And oh yes, some of the worst misogynists are other woman.

  • Unfortunately, the political sphere is one of popularity, not principle.   So in order to downplay the beliefs of conservatives, their opponents attack personality, family, and looks.  It is disgraceful, but it also reveals the emptiness of mind and soul of those who resort to that sort of thing.

  • Women are definitely WAY meaner than men to each other. I’ve always thought so. And in politics, usually the complaints against conservatives have nothing to do with their actual stance on issues.

  • Women will always be symbols of sex, what makes Hillary Clinton admirable is her plainness, her lack of sexuality, as in contrast to Palin, which is why she will never get far in politics, no one wants a nation to be run by a whore, and Clinton is just so plain and looks like she hasn’t had sex in 20 years, and these women have far more success in politics, which is why you would never be a good politician my dear trun.

  • @RulerofMasons - So you are saying conservative woman are prettier

  • I’ve also noticed….some of the worst misogynists are women..they “we” must be jealous of other women…

  • I like how Palin is offended by non-traditional wedding dresses you sometimes see these days because as she put it….all house hold appliances should come in white.

  • It is sad that women don’t get taken seriously in politics no matter how great their ideas may be. It doesn’t make things better that other females join in on the character attacking.

  • i don’t find “folksy” to be an attractive characteristic in anyone, man or woman.  i prefer incredibly educated individuals to those who pretend to be dumb just to fit in better.

  • @flapper_femme_fatale - Don’t you think that might seem like urban slobbery? What did you think of the bashing that Hilary took? Fair or really just anti woman?

  • @tendollar4ways - I did not hear that one but you must admit that obsession with her is all about her being pretty. Pretty woman must be stupid.

  • @Erika_Steele - All of them who are well know and popular get the hear the word bitch. the pretty ones get called whores

  • If women hate misogyny, then why are they all repulsed by all men who are not misogynists but easily aroused by those who are?  Without misogyny or misandry the art of picking up and hooking up couldn’t exist.

  • You seriously think Sarah Palin is persecuted because she’s a woman and not because she has a very low IQ?I don’t blame her for not being bright, hell Alaska isn’t all that complex to govern, not that she finished the term or anything. She got all stary eyed over McCain who only took her on because he knew he would lose and needed to shake things up. She simply didn’t and doesn’t have the ability to understand complicated things like the founding fathers, and American history, and her biblical fundamentalism is the icing on the stupid cake for her. Can anyone honestly say after hearing her speak that she has the intelligence to flip burgers at McDonalds? We don’t hate her though, you just can’t help how smart you are, unless you keep your mouth shut and try real hard to learn. I think she’s had plenty of time for that route and I see no improvement. She’s just a simple Alaskan hick thrust into fame by a desperate old man who himself should have quit politics before he became a dottering witless old fool.

  • @trunthepaige - I don’t find Palin particularly pretty and her face is like a block and she is kinda masculine. She is Pretty dumb though. Backman was pretty hot  (getting older) but she is batshit crazy…which oddly made her hotter.

  • @jasonwl - Its self confidence that is attractive not the misogyny. But some misogynists are very self confident. Honesty the worst misogynists I ever meet could not get a date to save themselves. But I do know what you are talking about. Many men who do not respect woman are ladies men.

  • @Erika_Steele - Then you must love Elizabeth Warren.

  • @trunthepaige - It’s one of the reasons why I can’t take politics seriously.  I want to, but it all seems to be a popularity contest filled with people who want the status of being in politics.  Women are called bitches or whores in so many other spheres as well, but I think politics is probably the worse of them.

  • All I know is that if the stress ever gets to be too much for Bristol, and she needs some comforting, I’m always available… purely as a compassionate person, you see.

  • @brown_buffalo - I think there are plenty of pages attacking her character and calling her a bitch, whore, stating she deserves to be bitch slapped etc.  Excuse me for not adding the MOST women qualifier to my response.

  • Liberals were desperate to tear Palin down because she was a minority running for office, just like Obama, and if McCain were elected she would be a novel “first”, just like Obama. I’m not saying she’s a genius, but her being called “stupid” and depicted as a “floozy” or inept because she was pretty and a female was pure propaganda on the part of the liberal media, and it worked. It seems like attractive women aren’t taken as seriously in politics, no matter their intelligence or ability. Not yet, anyway.

  • Politics is a rough business.

  • @Jenny_Wren - How is a White woman a minority in this country?  And Palin is dummmmmb.  Let’s not try to sugar coat it.

  • @quest4god@revelife - Same can be said of Conservatives as well.  Look at Palin, she quit politics to be a celebrity!

  • I see you didn’t add Pelosi, or any other Democrat females to balance things out.  Bachmann, Malkin, and Coulter are brilliant pundits that knowingly stir the pot for personal gain.  To them, it’s a calculated game.  Palin, on the other hand, is dumb as bricks, but a very good opportunist.

  • @trunthepaige - Amazing how the libs all came on here to prove your point – and mine.  It’s useless to bicker back and forth about how dumb or hot or whatever a person is in order to trivialize the issues.

  • @coolmonkey - I meant because she is a woman. “Minority” is sometimes used to refer to those who have less of a presence or power in a given society or field.

  • You know, these are poor examples to play the gender card on behalf of. NOBODY hates Bachmann, or Coulter because they’re women. They hate them because their ideals paint them out to be borderline nazis.. and nobody hated Sarah Palin until she started to open her mouth. In fact, nobody hates her.. they just wish she’d STFU expressing her ill-concieved opinions and, for the love of.. writing books?! Coulter does it almost on purpose. I have the slightest bit of respect for a modern lady McBeth who spews venom with a purpose. For the record, I think Hillary Clinton campaigned herself on phony sensitivity and high school antics. That and only that is why she lost her shot at the presidency. Just like John McCain did by even picking Sarah Palin, she pandered the female vote.. or tried to.. by feigning womanly sensitivity under pressure.. when at no point before or after was she anything more than a politician. You need to understand that they played your feminist side because they felt it would earn your vote. If you need this spelled out for you:-Hilary thought she could shed a few fake tears over imaginary pressure that she should have been more than accustomed to.. that not being her first week in politics..  and that would earn sympathy from all the women.McCain thought he could earn the women’s vote simply by picking a woman.Let’s just think about these examples before you put them on the crucifix and call them persecuted for having lady parts. The two I just cited set the cause of women back more than  any oppressive figure in modern history has.Mind you, if you had name dropped a woman with professional intensity, intelligence and integrity.. like say.. Katie Couric.. then you’d have yourself a case. But then, she doesn’t get crap for being a woman because she’s an intelligent woman.. and doesn’t just play one on TV.But you listed 2 closet nazis, a moron.. and a crocodile lady. It wouldn’t matter to me if they were guys. I’d still think so if 2 of them were hateful and inconsistent, one of them was a folksy idiot… and the other put on an emotional mask to earn my sympathy vote. The one thing the world demands from women as much as men who want to be in public service is some semblance of calibre and character. About the first thing I’d expect from a woman in any public or professional platform is.. for her to show me what she’s about and not start things off by playing on her femininity as a reason why I should let her pass, hire her, trust her, etc. That is not an unfair expectation.

  • @DarkYangofICE - Got it I mark you down as … the bitches all had it coming. But you name a man who in recent history has had his church burnt down, both daughters called whores on, national television called stupid called a whore herself years after being our of office is still being attacked? All the woman on my list are regularly attacked personally.

  • @quest4god@revelife - I see a lot of justification going on. Seem us uppity bitches just have it coming

  • @Erika_Steele - Why anyone wants to be in politics amazes me. But woman who do best not have any children.

  • @coolmonkey - Got it so her and her family have it coming. Let me know when you accomplish half of what she did and I consider you as intelligent as she is. What accomplishments have you under your belt that would put you in her leage?

  • @Jenny_Wren - she is a member of a group they think of as their own. So yes she gets “special” treatment for treason

  • @TheTheologiansCafe - Yes but woman seem to have a special brand of personal attacks they face

  • @trunthepaige - I remember a few of us having this talk back in 2008 when feminist allowed Sarah Palin to be cast as a complete idiot.

  • @TheTheologiansCafe - Anyone not growing up in a major city get called that. Even if they worked their way through college on their own raised a family, ran a business headed, a small city, and then a state, and personally did the negotiating with major oil companies and ended up with the states best deal ever. She is so stupid and her kids are all sluts except for the retard. The national feminist orgs sold their souls back when president Chilton was abusing woman who worked under him. They have no credibility left now. They did not even defend Hilary Clinton in the end for fear of damaging another Democrats rep

  • @trunthepaige - If we’re not allowed to criticize people with more accomplishments than us, then I take it that you won’t be badmouthing Obama or any Democrat in office anymore?

  • @coolmonkey - Hilliary is not enough for you? Pelosi was called the lizard queen and there were constant mentions of her plastic surgery and her being a bitch. All woman in politics are attacked personally with more venom than men are. Conservative woman get it in the main stream media and news shows. With the exception of Hilary when she was running against Obama she was hit by the main stream as well as the conservative outlets. I doubt you ever saw Pelosi being slandered unless you follow conservative pundits. But she was savagely attacked

  • @coolmonkey - Unlike you, I am not so stupid as to say I am smarter than they are. They are wrong not low IQ.  So since nothing you have accomplished in your life is in any of their leagues, it comes across as well less than bright of you to be calling their intelligence into question.

  • @trunthepaige - absolutely.  i prefer highly educated people to so-so educated people.  usually those people can only be found in urban settings.as for the Hilary thing… i think it’s neither fair, nor anti-women.  choosing to ridicule someone based on their looks doesn’t automatically make it a gender issue.  so, it’s not anti-women.  but, i also don’t think it’s fair because a person’s appearance has little to do with their politics.

  • None of the liberals calling Palin dumb have any room to talk. Here’s how it works:If a conservative says something racially charged or which could be construed to have racial elements in it, they are racist.  If a liberal says or does anything racist it’s a legitimate concern or whitticism. If a conservative criticizes a liberal female, or their lifestyle, they are part of the war on women and sexist.  If a liberal says anything about a conservative woman then they are just being blunt or real.  Only conservatives can be racist or sexist.

  • @coolmonkey - There is a difference between criticising their policies and calling them sluts and bitches.

  • @flapper_femme_fatale - Ok I will put you down as thinking Abraham Lincoln was a stupid hick. And I was raised in town of 10,000 so I must be one as well

  • @flapper_femme_fatale - One day you will need to tell me why someone like you, who I can tell is basically sweet. Can say such mean things about huge groups of people and mean it

  • Misogyny = four older sisters Smile

  • @DarkYangofICE - first of all, we on the right don’t play the gender or race cards.  That’s your game.  Second, there is a difference between criticizing people’s policies and calling them dirty words or criticizing their personal appearances, or making allegations about their sexuality.  For example, if I call Obama a MFing piece of horsehockey it’s an insult, but it’s not really a legitimate policy criticism.  You people on the left are extremely sensitive when it comes to that sort of thing.  If you can’t take it then don’t dish it out.

  • it’s tough being in the spotlight.

  • @Ambrosius_Augustus_Rex - On how it works! You are learning. I am very proud of you Daniel. Libs ARE afforded a bit of leeway. We can make sexist jokes, sexual orientation jokes….even racist jokes.Ya know why?Cuz they are just that….JokesYou flying the Confederate flag while at the same time advocating racist, sexist and homophobic policy…ain’t no fucking joke. Tis real.Capishe?

  • @Ambrosius_Augustus_Rex - This whole post is one big huge enormous gender card play… Secondly.. I have seen more N bombs and ape comparisons, and false muslim, born in kenya, terrorist ally BS dropped on the president and his wife than any of these women have suffered. It’s not lefties flying that flag, whatsoever.Thirdly, nobody on the left actually plays a gender card other than Hillary Clinton, and that’s because the rest see it as an insult to the cause. Hillary simply thought women were idiots enough to fall for it. Women everywhere should be insulted by what both sides did at some point to them, that election.Again though, I’d venture to say a relative minority of people care about these people’s personal details if they don’t try putting themselves/keeping themselves in the media limelight for whatever reason. Ann Coulter wants to appear on every talk show and sound like a complete Nazi when she is called on and driven in circles to defend her standpoints.. then she earns the rap as a misinformed Nazi that she substantiates.Sarah Palin.. if she could’ve just.. gone back to Alaska where she was relevant instead of publishing diatribe and continuing to speak in her uncomfortably in-between sense ans nonsense way in every topic she touches on.. nobody would bother her or her family. But nupe, she decides to want to stay in the spotlight and her family decides to make every zany move possible to garner some attention as well. Shame on the media for giving it, but shame on them as well for being circus bears (which.. is a metaphor for their behavior, not an insult, just to be clear).Sadly with the state of media, if you don’t just fade off into the graceful anonymity of lost electionhood, then the media takes that as consent to keep scrutinizing your life. It’s not something any of these people are new to, either. There’s no defending media habits, but when you choose not to disappear and you aren’t of sound argument, that’s the risk you take. This being said… how is it what they endured worse than the 5th degree that every last male Republican candidate got the minute they said something out-there, or the minute something off key was discovered about them? Herman Cain got lambasted into quitting, so did several other of his colleagues As much as I never thought I’d find myself defending people like Mitt Romney and John McCain, they got raillled during and after their campaigns. McCain for being old, senile and dipsy.. which.. he did air some* truth to but not to the degree warranting a lot of the disrespect he got shown.. and Romney got demonized for being a shady rich fatcat with no possible benevolent intent toward the working American….. which turned out to be true, but during and after, he got the skillet with insults and name calling which doesn’t really solve anything and isn’t in good taste. Although, in America’s defense: he started it.George Bush spent his entire presidency being compared to the devil himself. I am as far from a Dubya fan as anyone can be, but..the devil? Nah. Well… Nah; The devil actually knows* what he’s doing when he f****s things up.So how many women have been called a N**, The Devil, Asshole, Old Fart, Terrorist? Frankenstein or anything on that level? They’re not realistically getting it any worse than those in the game already. To their credit, you also don’t see any of them whining about it.

  • Are you Noel’s mom?

  • @UR_MUSE - Wow even I did not start that young

  • @DarkYangofICE - Bush was bashed but he was the number one target and very little of it was against his family. Again I am taking main stream not blog posts on extremist sitesObama where have you ever seen a racist insult of him in the mainstream? And his family its treated like royalty. Everyone you named was let off easy compared to every women I named.

  • It honestly disgusts me, the kind of personal attacks that women in politics get on both sides of the aisle. If you disagree with their policies and stances – argue against THAT. Calling them bitches and whores is just ignorant and childish.

  • And don’t forget, “I (President Clinton) did not have sex with that woman, Monica Lewinsky!”

  •  I am really sad to believe that, instead of Gentlemen, we have created a bunch of men and some women as well who make the assumption that, if they hear it on the radio — Then it is true, and by sheer accident I have listened to talk radio — mainly white males who are the most vile humans I have ever heard.  We all know that Rush Limbaugh is among them, and the others, I do not even know.  Women in America, through the aging process, or born with unfortunate physical qualities have always been targeted long before these entertainers, if we can call them that, came along.  The listeners often are individuals who have not had as much education — Smart men who do labor jobs, but they fall for these hedonistic talk, and women in politics are targets from the day of mouth opening.//  Sadly, feminism brought along the idea that to compete with the boys, then we take on the manners of the boys and burst up all of their clubs, so we women did not help ourselves by not allowing ourself to be girls, then women and to have our own turf, and this will sound simplistic, but we kicked our own asses.  We could have made progress with a little more dignity ourselves, for womanhood is a gift, and to be a man is a gift.  We did not have to take away feminine power of persuasion.  Hormonally, structurally, and how we develop all are in different manners, and I feel we caused some man hate by demanding horning in on everything masculine.  I am not somebody’s little woman, but I think men and women needed their personal gathering places, and both males and females have lost out, because we do not honor our differences and mutually respect that we can share the boardrooms without having to sacrifice our womanhood.  Instead of the radical approaches of shoving our way through; We needed to have lead each other to the polling places.// That’s just what I see.  Working men need to know that these vile radio trash sayers are just that, vile, twist truth, suggest horrible actions which suggest violence toward people like the Clintons; And what kind of women want to associate with men who would believe violence is alright on any level.//  People who listen to these programs are most apt to have Judeo/Christian values which is a dichotomy; For Jesus surely did not wish for women to be treated in any such manner.  Older women of Asian cultures have leading roles in the family and much respect, so can we blame it all on St. Paul and subservience; Stop now, and read the rest of the command gentlemen, for it was about respect toward women. Can wise people understand that all that is on the internet has to be examined for truth, and shock jocks are making the biggest bucks imaginable to capture men, especially, and if they met a working man at a party; Among the first things they would ask is, “Where did you get your degree?”  Get it? They figure less intelligent men are their prime audience, and they want to keep up their ratings by getting your briefs in the wringer, and behind your back fellows;  They are laughing all the way to the bank.  We might need instead of, “Leaning In,” so hard, to teach our sons some chivalry, and might want our daughters to know a little grace, and see if we can find some ground to act like respectable men and women who can share turf but who can also stand apart a little.  For work and equality, the voting booth is a great hangout ladies.A woman once worked for me, the kindest woman in the universe.  She came in with a beautiful hair cut and a black eye one week and then another.  It turned out her Christian husband and his family agreed she should be smacked for cutting her hair and to get more money for her folks in to The Bible School Feminist lead us to believe we needed to be a bunch of hard assed women against the boys  We needed laws on the books so firm against violence toward women and children that any man would do jail time, and every woman needs and still needs to know physical harm is not a loving faith filled husband but a solid pathetic human being from whom, in this country, no law of so0called faith discipline will be allowed.  We can help other women; we can make gains in industry, and we can be women helping other women without beating the drums and giving the radio jocks something to demean each of us.  I believe there is much truth in what you have written as Misogyny, and the violence and careless words we use in this country is headed toward more disaster and less humanism.  God help us.  Blessings, Barbara Everett Heintz

  • I love how even after your post, folks still just baselessly call Palin dumb.  Yet none can really explain why they think she’s dumb.  They’ll just say “because she says dumb things, blah blah blah” yet not actually cite on thing OFF THE TOP OF THEIR HEAD.  I would place to bet, anyone that responds to this will have to google first, and it’s still likely they would use a quote that was never even said by Palin.  How many people say “she stupid.  She said you can see Russia from her house.”  Hey, morons, it’s not her that’s stupid, it’d be you, because she never said that.  Tina Fey did in an SNL skit.  Shows how ignorant people are. Just like @flapper_femme_fatale that seems to think rural people aren’t educated.  Yup.  Them farmers sure is dumb.  Of course,  she ignores the fact it takes more intelligence to run a farm than it does to play the stock market (because it IS playing the market, as well as everything else).  But yeah, it’s only the right that unfairly groups people together and discriminates….

  • I dislike Sarah Palin because I disagree with her stance on many issues (her opposition to embryonic stem cell research and gay marriage, and her support of teaching creationism in schools are 3 really big ones) and she doesn’t really come across as a very intelligent person. Maybe she is one, but she hides it very well.

  • Sorry but if you are in for the run you need more smarts. PAlin is hardly an example of a good leader. How do I know? Well her example of quiting her state job, Saying outlandish statements, and being a reality tv star come to mind. There are plenty of smart compentant women who you didn’t mention. Naming just the few nuts no one can stand doesn’t mean we hate women leaders. I can name a few we like but like any other leader we tear them up verbally no matter what.

  • @tendollar4ways - Than you for admitting that I am correct regarding the double standard.  The best thing you can do if you want to understand me is to begin by recognizing that you don’t.  But OK, let’s do a bit of sleuthing.  Who am I racist againt, and what is your empirical data to corroborate it?  Quotes from me will do, or links to journal entries.  Feel free to emperically prove that I am sexist as well.

  • @trunthepaige - i said “usually” not always.  and i don’t see how it’s so vile of me to say who i do and do not enjoy spending my time with.  not to mention, who i prefer to lead the country.  the only people i want in charge are people infinitely more educated than myself, and anyone else i know.  i think that an education is something to be proud of.

  • @grim_truth - there’s a difference between being dumb/smart… and being uneducated/educated.  when it comes to a national leader, i want someone educated AND intelligent.

  • @Ikwa - She mentioned Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Michele Bachmann, Michelle Malkin, and Ann Coulter. You think they are ALL nuts? really? I think you missed the whole point of this post. The point was, despite whatever position a woman holds (liberal or conservative), she gets disproportionate hate compared to her male counterparts.

  • @ShimmerBodyCream - But naming those ladies is not fair is my point.

  • @Ikwa - You think they are ALL crazy? o_O How is it not fair? She mentioned people from both sides of the aisle.

  • @ShimmerBodyCream - Is fair and balanced naming only a few?

  • @DarkYangofICE - I have never seen anyone racially slur Obama, other than a few retarded comment on the internet, and I live in Georgia.  The majority of the objections to Obama are entirely reasonable, and based on his policies, which have proven to be horrendously bad for this country.  As for the racist stuff, those people will always be there, on both sides.  Black conservatives are often called “Uncle Tom’s” and “House N******” by liberals of all races.  If you don’t believe me you can check ET Williams on youtube.  But as for the people using racial slurs on Obama, they are  small but loud minority, and not necessarily conservatves.  Let’s not forget that the KKK was created by Democrats.  I believe that the media attacks on Herman Cain were primarily motivated by race.  Calling Obama a Kenyan or a Muslim is not racist.  That man is highly suspect on every level.  Alex Jones called Piers Morgan a redcoat and made fun of his accent.  That was much more of an emphasis on ethnicity than reminding people of Obungle’s Muslim and Kenyan roots. Also, Islam is a religion not a race.  People of every race are in Islam, unfortunately.  Afghans, for example, are white, but I hate their culture and don’t want them coming to my country.  I don’t want black Muslims, white Muslims, Arab Muslims, North African Muslims, Paki Muslims, or Asian Muslims coming here any more than I would have wanted Communists coming here during the Cold War Era, or Nazis coming here during WWII.  The liberal media is essentially the voluntary mouthpiece for the Democrat party.  They go after the Republicans and cover for the Democrats.  The way they operate is shameful and criminal.Having read some of Ann Coulter’s works as well as about a fourth of Mein Kampf I can tell you that there is quite a difference between Hitler and Ann.  People on the left like to call us Nazis all the time, without knowing what the Nazis were actually about.  You know the way Obama operates is much more closer to the way Hitler operated than any other Republican or Democrat.  One of the things that the Nazis did was disarm all the law abiding citizens before they started instituting the crazier laws.  They also created a system of reporting on your neighbors, created the HJ for indoctrinating children, and created a new domestic police force with the purpose of operating in the homeland against the citizens.  These are all things Obama and the Dems are trying to do right now.  Let’s also not forget about nationalization of production, which is another thing Obama is trying to do, and working closely with Muslims (again Obama is doing this).

  • I don’t believe Palin is ridiculed because she is a woman. It’s because she is an idiot.

  • @Ikwa - I’m sure she could give a longer list, she was giving the most prominent examples and she listed examples from both parties. This isn’t a conservative/liberal issue, it’s misogyny.

  • @somewittyhandle - Palin WAS ridiculed because she was a woman. When she was running as VP the media was discussing if she would be able to handle political life and family life specifically because she was a woman.

  • @Ambrosius_Augustus_Rex -  If we hold people up as leaders than they need to rise to the same equal levels as everyone else not less, that is  if they have been given the same opportunities.

  • People are too blinded by their own ideologies to get the point of your post.

  • @Ikwa - That’s fair, but I dont see how Ann Coulter or Sarah Palin are failures.  They are far more upstanding and than anyone on the left, and Ann Coulter has a grasp on logic that is far superior to that of the average person.

  • I think it’s more than that. The feminist movement is primarily liberal women because women’s rights have been melted together with “reproductive rights”, which creates a huge schism among women. Women who don’t align their beliefs with the left are targeted as being anti-woman, stuck in the dark ages of women’s past. So their beauty and their traditionalism becomes a target. On the flip side, women who are on the left are masculinized, (which apparently isn’t a word…masculinated?). Somehow these women are manly because they strive for equal rights. Suddenly they are a new hybrid of gender…and it also makes them easy targets. We can call it misogyny. I call it the biggest roadblock to forward thinking within the feminist movement. And I don’t think it has anything to do with men and politics. Women have to be united for our good together, regardless of political affiliation, in order to move forward. We are the ones who impact men’s opinions. If we can’t agree, they certainly won’t either. And our tolerance of misogyny in the press, our uncanny ability to leave each other hanging, or even the famous Sarah Palin/Katie Couric interview…these are the things that hold us back.Okay. Rant complete.

  • @ImNotUglyIJustNeedLove - He could do no wrong in the eyes of the press

  • @grim_truth - You cant explain thing to someone who is being a bigot. I am certain she does not even know anyone as intelligent as my father. Nor better educated. He is a dairy farmer

  • @flapper_femme_fatale - No I think your being a bigot. My farther the dairy farmer has his master degree form UCLA. Sarah Palin who think of and a moron has a degree for the University of Idaho. That for you snobs is very well respected university . My father likely is smarter than anyone you have ever met, He would never insult a person of Sarah Palin accomplishments as unintelligent. And fools would do such a thing. Only a fool believes you can do what she has done in life and not be more intelligent than most. I will never understand you, You are not a mean person, but some of the things you believe are cold and vicious. Sort of scary that a person like you seem able to be talked into some bad things. You really do seem to mean some people you disagree with harm. You justice it

  • @TheyCallHerEcho88 - That stem cell issues has seen so much demagoguery.  But that is not the subject.Sarah Palin was just one of the examples. DO you not not see where woman in politics woman are attacked is most vial of ways> Obama would be the number one target of political attack. No one burned his church down and called his little girls and wife whores. That is what was done to Sarah Palin and she was no where near as big a Target as Obama. Nor did she even come close to making as many stupid sounding comment as Joe Biden. If misstatements are the excuse for the bashing Palin receives then why is Joe Biden given a pass? And his daughter were never insulted. Even though one of them was videotaped using cocaine at a party. What do you think would happen if it was Sarah Palin’s daughter in that video?

  • @Ikwa - Lets not compare Sarah Palin to Joe Biden again. The fact that you do not know all the stupidity that Biden has said makes my case. The point odf this entry was the why woman get special treatment in the press. The men do not get called whores, their families are not attacked (if they are whoever does it suffers) and you would never be defending anyone who called Obama’s girl whores or Biden’s daughter coke whores. But here you are making excuses for the way Palin was treated. Maybe in your case its just partisan bigotry, but I doubt it. Its misogyny “that bitch don’t know her place”

  • When you were debating me on gun control, I said you were like Ann Coulter reincarnated into something younger. I meant it as a compliment.

  • @somewittyhandle - Sure and Biden is brilliant. So why are her daughter both called whores?  And did you see the rest the the woman I mentioned

  • @SlickRick297 - You are a good guy. She s very intelligent, and for her age pretty, I never took it as an offensive. I did run out of time one that one. I would be shocked if you ever were reduced to calling a woman who you disagree with a whore. Or bashed her children. If guys like you start doing that I will just give up.

  • @flapper_femme_fatale - but you have yet to explain why anyone listed is unintelligent.  You also stated that “i prefer highly educated people to so-so educated people.  usually those people can only be found in urban settings,” which is simply an untrue, bigoted, discriminatory statement.  Especially when one considers the fact that in urban settings, the high-school drop-out rate is higher, test scores are lower, and graduation rates are lower than rural settings.Basically, you simply stated that anyone not from an urban setting is an idiot and you provided absolutely zero justification for your statement.  Of course, that’s par for the course.

  • @trunthepaige - I never brought up Joe. I am saying this goes for anyone. They call Michelle O names too but that is more true to the subject since she is only married to the man people love to hate. I am saying you need a way better example compared to Palin like most people here commenting agree.

  • @Ikwa - Michelle is never personally attacked outside of some extreme websites. When they go after her it is on her issues not one her children being a whore or a retards. The fact they you would not mention Joe, a man with far more stupid words on his record than Palin makes my point. You do not know a single bad thing about what he has said, or what his daughters have done. But Sarah Palin you know all, true or not. Woman are attacked differently and with more venom

  • @trunthepaige - Round three still awaits your entry. And in general, I’d appreciate your comments on my blogs, you bring a completely different perspective than where I am oriented off of.

  • @trunthepaige - ” My father likely is smarter than anyone you have ever met”my uncle is a chemistry profesor with a doctoral degree.  he just finished his third book.  when it comes to education, he is my role model.  i can’t even pretend to understand half the things he studies.  you can check out his resume here:  http://cas.umkc.edu/chemistry/schmitzcv.asp“ Only a fool believes you can do what she has done in life and not be more intelligent than most.”really?  many successful people in history have been categorically unintelligent.  as an emperor, Charlemagne was mostly illiterate.  being successful doesn’t mean you’re intelligent.”You really do seem to mean some people you disagree with harm. ”how?  because i think that some people are too stupid to be elected to political office?

  • @grim_truth - ”but you have yet to explain why anyone listed is unintelligent.”where did i say that anyone listed IS unintelligent?  ”Especially when one considers the fact that in urban settings, the high-school drop-out rate is higher, test scores are lower, and graduation rates are lower than rural settings.”… i’m 26 with a BA.   why on earth do you think i hang out with high schoolers, or that i consider high school graduation to be the benchmark of education?”Basically, you simply stated that anyone not from an urban setting is an idiot and you provided absolutely zero justification for your statement.  ”your argument really fails when, instead of quoting me directly, you feel compelled to put words in mouth.   i’ll repeat myself, with extra punctuation and explanation: i, Brenda Thacker, prefer highly educated people (graduate degree) to so-so educated people (high school graduates).  this is not only in terms of who i surround myself with socially, but in terms of who i’d consider electable to a national office.   and, yes… most college degree holders live in urban settings.  i also enjoy urban society more than rural society.  so, i prefer an urban setting.  and as i said previously, education does not equal intelligence.  Palin may have a degree, but she also stated publicly that we have to support our North Korean allies.  i don’t care if her IQ is over 200… that was a stupid statement, and i’m pretty sure my 13-year-old sister knows more about the North-South Korea conflict.  all the intelligence and success in the world means nothing if you fail at articulating either one.

  • @flapper_femme_fatale - Yay you know someone as smart as my father, as his thing was law and philosophy, I think you would find he sounded far smarter than your uncle, even though he is not. Just different more verbal and less specialized. I have never saved the meaner things you have agreed with and said. I think I will just keep pointing them out to you are you say them. History is not your thing is it? …. Charlemagne was not educated as a young man, royalty never was educated in reading and writing in his day. That was the realm of priests in that time, the alphabet in his language was not even standardized yet.  Then their education was verbal and mostly about war and politics things that a young leader must know, but he taught himself how to read late in life, though never leaned to write well. . He spoke more than one language. He educated himself while fighting wars in a time when the king actually carried a sword and did the fighting. He was well known for his oratory and intelligence. and one of his crowning achievements was in education reform. He began the Carolingian RenaissanceIn other words Charlemagne was a genus. But you seem to be very culturally and history isolated

  • @flapper_femme_fatale - “When I meet with world leaders, what’s striking — whether it’s in Europe or here in Asia…” – Barack Obama mistakenly referring to Hawaii as Asia while holding a press conference outside Honolulu, Nov. 16, 2011

  • @trunthepaige - He was elected TWICE by the American people!  If he were a Republican he would have gone to jail!!

  • @trunthepaige - false but of course you know better and you know what I am thinking so no need to argue? Lol

  • @Ikwa - You are supporting the personal attacks as justified. You do not seem to think she was treated differently due to her sex and being rather attractive.

  • @ImNotUglyIJustNeedLove - yes he was and to this day few seem to know he was convicted of perjury in his sexual harassment law suit. In other words he did it

  • @trunthepaige - Your female liberal commentors like @ikwa and @flapper couldn’t care less if a fellow Democrat is a racist, sexist, bigot, homophobe.  Even if it has been proven beyond a shadow a doubt and one of the female victims waves a cum stained blue dress. They’ve been programmed to hate Republicans who are all stupid, racist, sexist, bigot, homophobes especially if they are women.

  • @trunthepaige - ” Charlemagne was not educated as a young man, royalty never was educated in reading and writing in his day. ”the lack of education had more to do with the fact that Charlemagne was Frankish and a Western European, not that he was royalty.  Charlemagne’s contemporary in Constantinople, Constantine V, was very well-educated.  and Charlemagne himself descended from the Mayors of the Palace, who were very well-educated.  Charlemagne’s illiteracy is an exception, not the rule.  ”In other words Charlemagne was a genus.”that doesn’t change the reality that he never became fully literate, when most people around him were. and yes… history is very much my “thing”.  it’s what i have my degree in.  you didn’t share anything new with me, and you actually proved my point :)  Charlemagne, not being the most intelligent person around (i’d give Alcuin more credit), was very successful.

  • @trunthepaige - where have i said Obama is particularly intelligent?  i voted for him because the only other viable option was a McCain/Palin ticket.  it was the lesser of two evils.  when both people are generally idiots, all i have to go on is politics :)

  • @flapper_femme_fatale - you are comparing Rome to Gaul and everything I said was true. But yes the Romans educated their leaders, but we are talking applies and oranges. As a history major you damn well know he was the beginnings of formal education in barbarian western Europe. He was widely considered to be a brilliant man.  I assumed you were ignorant and not trying to be be misleading

  • @flapper_femme_fatale -  I see Obama as rather bright they all were bright people. Not all their ideas are right but intelligent well educated people are on both sides of most issues

  • @flapper_femme_fatale - Have you ever misspoke? politicians talk none stop, and their words are recorded. No one gets out of politics without saying something stupid sounding

  • I think strong women are hated by others no matter who they are.

  • To be honest my number one reason for not liking Sarah Palin is that she shoots wolves from helicopters with automatic weapons. My number one reason for not liking Ann Coulter is that I believe she knows how annoying her voice sounds and does it anyway. Also, she’s made a bunch of racist and classcist comments I disagree with. If you’re a talking head, anything in your life can and will be used against you in the court of public opinion, and you knew that when you signed up, so I don’t feel much sympathy. There are better things to be said than these things, and I don’t think the people insulting these women like that are very smart, but it is what it is.

  • @Grannys_Place - I agree I think that is most of it

  • @imnotpersephone - The men get off far lighter and their families tend to be off limits

  • @trunthepaige - absolutely.  but that’s why i don’t run for political office.

  • @trunthepaige - agreed.  i never said that wasn’t the case.  but that doesn’t change the fact that i expect a lot out of politicians.  i don’t think it’s too much to ask for someone who is gaffe-free.

  • @flapper_femme_fatale - Gaffe free doesn’t happen, the best you get are people like obame who the main stream wants to win so they do not report it. Chilton may be a genus and few are better educated. He really said a lot of stupid sounding things. And did some very stupid things. Who do you think of as gaffe free?

  • Yeah, I agree totally. I even heard Hillary was starting a chicken business in D.C. – For $5 you get 2 small breasts, and 2 plump thighs….

  • @trunthepaige - “urban slobbery?” There you go again freaking someone out with your creative use of spelling.

  • @trunthepaige - the Gauls were different from the Franks.  The Gauls were a Celtic population long established, whereas the Franks were a Germanic tribe that didn’t show up til late in the game.  as for literacy in either group… the Franks adopted the Latin of the population they ruled.  Charlemagne himself was not the beginning.  Alcuin of York had already established a center of learning that far surpassed anything on the continent.  that’s part of the reason why Charlemagne selected him, along with a few others.

  • @flapper_femme_fatale - President Obama and Vice President Biden are two of the biggest gaffers in the business.  You didn’t know that I’ll bet, because the Democrat Party Propaganda Machine (the mainstream media) manages your mind for you and never tells you about it.Yet proven brainiacs like George Bush and Sarah Palin get the “treatment” from the Democrat Party Propaganda Machine and you swallow it hook, line and sinker.  The two smartest people on the political scene become dummies. The Democrat Party is at war with reality.  So if they can brainwash enough people with misinformation, they get to define reality.

  • It shows that women are not supposed to have political views!

  • @flapper_femme_fatale - Yes but originally Charlemagne ruled what was old Gual not what was Germania. and Franks only wrote in Latin they did not speak it natively.Your noting that Charlemagne selected Alcuin of York makes the point that he did move real formal education onto the continent.

  • @angys_coco -  woman are fine as long as they do what they are told

  • @trunthepaige - right, but my point was that he couldn’t have done it himself.  you can’t expect an illiterate to lead the charge on education reform. he utilized other people’s talents.

  • I don’t see how anyone can question the the most powerful mysogynists are in fact….women.Joan Collins said. ” I dress for women, I undress for men”.  Great statement.Who hates a woman’s, hair, dress and makeup, more than another woman?Politics doesn’t have to enter into it. Women hate other women, far more than men do.

  • @Bricker59 - you have a point. A good one

  • I didn’t realize Palin was getting any attention anymore.  I thought she had faded from the news.

  • @ImNotUglyIJustNeedLove - President Clinton, just like you, like me, like half the human race had serious moral flaws, and dear Lord I do not argue with that, and so did FDR, and J. Edgar Hoover and Richard Nixon are the kind of examples whom I fear most, for we are not apt to get innocent people stalked by the FBI believing Martin Luther King was a Communist and supporters of Civil Rights were all members of The Communist Party when not a college kid of the day got by without reading, “The Rosenberg Trial,” and wondering if there was not something of communism which might have been worth the examination.  We have to examine no more though, for what we see is that it rarely works, for there is always greed at the top, and to be so desperate as to separate the religious out for persecution tells us such institutions fear the power that love of God might destroy a government shows that government fears power outside of their cliques. Then Nixon was so paranoid he was supported Watergate, an actual criminal robbery!  These men with borderline if not full blown paranoia scare me a whole lot more than Mr. Clinton’s hearty sexual attack,  Telling a big lie and endeavoring to face his country with truth about a tacky little peccadillo is narcissistic and pathetic, but it did not involve guns and having the ability to destroy the world with a nuclear strike, the kinds of things paranoid personality disorder folks like Mr. Nixon and Mr. Hoover shared.  I haven’t seen Victoria’s Secret causing much other than flow of the big T to genitalia.I could not vote for Mrs. Palin, not because I think she is stupid, but she could never win, and that she can field dress a Moose just isn’t what I am looking for when a woman becomes President.  Tina Fey was able to turn this woman in to nothing but a joke, and I laughed too.  Mrs. Palin is from Alaska which just does not have the population of many states in the lower 48 and Hawaii.  She is a beautiful woman who captured a governor ship in a smaller voting pool, and she would make a fine Ambassador, but to answer the questions put to Presidential Candidates, these days we almost have to have someone from Harvard, Yale, or one of the great state universities. That people used the word murder and Sarah Palin in the same sentence is evil.  To mock a child who is mentally challenged are people who are so vile and despicable there are no words for justification.  Come on people, to love God and country means that you accept the commandments, and you might stray some from them; But killing people because you do not agree with them, and to use words like murder, kill, or knocking around women and children by our trash talk radio persons who are trying to rile up a bunch of white or black men; Once more, and I am sorry for the repetition, but you are not getting it that these people are paid a lot of money to make ordinarily good men to look and act in an irresponsible way.I invite Mrs. Palin to go and have drinks with each other at some nice hotel lounge in New York City and to compare notes of what they have been through together.  Then I hope they can talk about how they can bring women further in to public service and to share with those women that it takes a woman of steel, plus male or female’s relationship with their children is diminished in the sum of time you will be able to spend with them.  It would be a very good book to read if all of the first ladies wrote their version of what being a president’s wife meant to them and to their families, and would they ever have encouraged their husband’s to do it all again? Please, ARA, talk to some of these talk show host about your desires to leave in a peaceful kingdom and cut out the violence they spew, for folks are not getting it that their sorry job is to keep the country on edge and divided.  It keeps the ratings of their shows up.But to the gentleman who remarked on President Clinton’s most pathetic hour on television ever — It was amoral, a lie, and I do not know what all went on in that back room off the Oval Office, but it was mentioned that sex may have been in an oral manner and our President could not think of that as having sexual relations because of his southern Christian values.  Any southern Christian, and I came out of such a church knows that is what my Mama would call a, “Whopper,” the biggest lie.  fallatio and cunin lingus are far more apt to make you the town tramp or nasty man  than if one got caught having sex in the baby making way.  I defer judgment on Mr. Clinton’s behavior, for we all have our bag of stones we need to be careful not to throw, but even he could not convince me or another person intelligent in thought that he was doing the deed.  I think none of us could reply well other than to say, “How stupid do you think we are?”  It is still embarrassing that our country has put ourselves between others sheets as to how we choose a president..  There are no perfect individuals. My last word on this subject, I promise, because we are showing how affected we are by the media and that they can sway us like dogwoods blooming during a mountain storm.Blessings to All,Barbara Everett Heintz

  • @PinkHoneysuckle - Let me sum up your argument in one short sentence:We shouldn’t judge President Clinton because “everybody does it.”The only problem with your argument is that it’s a big fat lie.Bill Clinton is a rapacious monster that not many of us average sinners could even dream of keeping up with.

  • @C_L_O_G - You would have thought so but notice the attention she got here

  • No sir, I absolutely did not say that everyone does it. Secondly, I believ that I conveyed that I believed President Clinton was untruthful even further than what you had mentioned.  I wrote more than you did, because it is so easy to read in to something what is half truth which is what guys like Carl Rowe, and the super paid entertainers like Rush Limbaugh use as bait to get people all riled up and using words which are so inflammatory they divide a country.  I never said every body is doing anything, though the Europeans have expressed they believe Americans are ridiculous for getting in a sweat over affairs.  I know, we have been out of Europe a long time now, but most upper class families have the mistress in the closet.  Remember the quote from Prince Charles to Diana, that he would not be the first monarch to not have a mistress? No sir, I did not say anything about every body forgiving William Jefferson Clinton, for people aspire to what they feel is decent behavior, but what I did say is that presidents having affairs scared me a lot less than leaders who have been dangerously paranoid.  I did say we all have a bag of stones, and I have some hurt that I cannot get over, so large that it has broken our family to pieces at times, not a husband’s actions — But a child made a careless and thoughtless decision and has endeavored to shove it down the family’s throat.  I love the daughter, hate the sin, and believe the one who grabbed her when she was drunk and just 21 carries the potential for great evil, for she was putting her hands all over my child to teach her, “The moves,” in the form of martial arts long before my daughter was of age; So sir, I understand that people do evil things, and there is weight to evil called mortal and venial sins, though you do not have to believe that.I know that we did have all of the home losses, the banks failing, Bernie Madeoff so powerful he was going to lead to people losing their last time in savings under Mr. Clinton, and he balanced the budget.  If I am saying anything which might disgust you is that I feel so sorry for his wife and daughter for having to go through all of what they did, but nothing he did ever affected National Security.  It seems that a lot of folks decided that Mr. Clinton was a rude man, and he told lies about a sex life which I would like to understand how that in any manner tore our country apart as it is now.  I could care less if you forgive him, but people he use terms llike, “Murder,” :and suggest a sexual act and not telling the American people sordid details just do not all up to all of the hate the Clintons now still garner.  I wrote the blog, “Mrs. Clinton, Please Do Not Run For the Presidency, because, dear God, it is time to stop the Clinton hate talk. How you feel about the Clintons is only important to me from the stand point that I said in too many words, “This is not, nor never was it a threat to the security of the United States.  We have had people out of control who cause serious damage, Joseph McCarthy, for instance.  We got in to a trillion dollar no win war under the Bush family.  Everybody old enough to remember recalls that under Bill Clinton inspite of the fact he could not keep his pants up, people felt more secure, and folks had more spending money than now, and we were in a general better place than we became during the Bush Years and now the, “Do nothing congress years.”  A president has so little power when the truth is told. Please do not tell me what I did not say.  I said we all have a sack of stones, but surely we can get off of an affair Bill Clinton lied about in the 1980s.  I questioned his biggest lie of all, that he did not believe this was real sex they had, but I do not see it as important whether you or anyone else need forgive stupidity. How is he affecting your life and mine now?  I have even stated raw disappointment that Mr. Obama did not pull these men and women out of the middle east the first year in office, and if you read my weblog, my suggestion is that the whole sorry bunch should be kicked out next election.Maybe we need folks like you to measure who is decent for the job.  I thought maybe Romney until he could not seem to talk without coming up with some ridiculous statement about the cost of luxuries he owned while the country had such job loss, bank bail outs.  I wanted someone more humble.  I am looking for a torchbearer, a lamp lighter, someone who knows that wars have been nothing but a terrible cost after the second world war.We just need to get over this Clinton Mystique.  I hope they go teach in Universities or that a grandchild fills their empty spaces, and that is all.  I have spoken of dangerous talk radio entertainers, for don’t you know they get to the political circuit parties and laugh behind the backs of people who think they are full of truth. Please, I did not say what you wrote as your summary.  I worry far more about getting people in power who are paranoid with borderline personality disorders than I do sheer slimy sex, and that sums it up.Thank you, and I bid you a fine weekend. Thanks, Barbara Everett Heintz

  • @trunthepaige - She did get a lot of attention here.  I noticed it when I left my initial comment.

  • @trunthepaigeI’m afraid I don’t know anything about her daughters: where they work, how much they charge etc, so I can’t comment on that.As regards the other women: what about them? The only common denominator I can see is their gender.
